2010 - no longer an odyssey....

Year 2010
This is something i used to see in sci-fi movies on TNT years ago. And now we are writing it on the deposit slips, letters, forms, receipts etc etc...
and.. what do u know?? the world is nothing like what they showed the year 2010 to be.. no flying cars.. no self fitting clothes.. no ugly looking food pellets.. its still the same.
WHAT HAS CHANGED??? HAS ANYTHING CHANGED??? REALLY??? Except ofcourse, a lot of stuff has moved into the internet. I guess, one should try depriving the world of the internet for like 8 hours and see what happens. First it was the idiot box - TV.. which killed a lot of physical activity.. now the internet has taken its place. It has swallowed the TV as well into its realm.
Funny thing.. I started off this post with the intention of talking about something totally different, and I ended up starting off with something else...interesting..
The human mind is an interesting psychological phenomenon.
Such an interesting psychological phenomenon.
Sometimes it should be brutally abused and tortured until the last bit of breath is left, and then revived and the procedure repeated for like maybe a million years. The human mind and the dog's tail is quite similar that way, I would say. The good might turn bad, but still good, but the evil still remain evil. And you know what?? the world is full of the evil ones...
Nobel prices are bought.. especially for peace.. A PUBLICITY STUNT...
everybody and everything is so "stuck up" in their own miniscule unimportant lives..their momentary pleasure.. irrespective of whats happening around.. I think human beings have a fear of re-adapting or actively changing themselves to the new environment. Otherwise, the term generation gap would never exist, I guess. It is different to like material object from the past, though they have evolved. But refusing to adapt to changed environment, social conditions, refusal to accept that the society doesn't give a **** except to make you feel miserable, and live on without being bothered by them is UNACCEPTABLE.
IT IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE..
Education is a big farce. It does nothing to people's perception on life. NOTHING.. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The so-called most educated people are the most most most narrow minded people on this planet. And why does this happen? Its the perils of the evil society that you live in. Vultures are naive compared to the social animals.
hmmm...
i guess thats it for 2009...

Life, the universe, and everything else in Bengaluru

0320 hrs in sodium lit Koramangala on the 13th day of the 6th month of the 2009th year. Life is still... Bittersweet Symphony in the background, the fluorescent lit tiny room - reminder of the hostel life at NITT. It never struck me until yesterday, that my room in this 2 bedroom house was so similar to my room back in hostel, until somebody pointed it out. Almost similar size, but of course, more luxurious, at the same time packed with stuff. The amount of things you accumulate within a year is qutie enormous. Hopefully, since I am moving out of the city, I just might be able to get rid of some of the untouched belongings. One always seem to be accumulating a lot of "things" which seem to be inevitable to daily life, but you just wouldn't have used it at all in the last one year. Everytime you clean the room, you just can't let yourself to throw those dusty old "things". At the back of your head, you will be thinking, "this might just come in handy for something on THAT day."

I suppose the title I have given to this piece does not make any sense, or have any relation to what is been written. Well, sometimes, such a step is necessary. In this world ruled by the "fine print" and the "conditions apply", one can do what they want and get away with it. I mean, how many of those enterpreneurs know what the "conditions" are any ways? And does anybody ever bother to find out? Everybody just assumes that the conditions are there, and if they say you can't do this, it means you can't do it, and just blindly accept the fact that it is the condition. Conditions apply has become such a cliche that for everything and anything you have a "conditions apply" included at the bottom, that too in fine print. You go out today to get a simple telephone connection, and then they hand over a 4 page document out to you, which is printed in a text, size of which is possibly the smallest the printer could print without smudging it, and you just browse the pages, just to be satisfied that you atleast know how many pages it was, and at the end, you agree to all the above and sign it. I mean, for all you know, airtel could be by now the owner of all the intellectual property of their 1 million customers. How do you even guarantee that you haven't by now written off all your worldy and intellectual possessions to the banks, and other capitalist organizations?

CONDITIONS APPLY - somebody should take it to court sometime, and get a clarity or ban on the extensive usage of this term by all organizations and individuals. "Congratulations, you have won one lakh rupees from every store you see on your way to work." But "CONDITIONS APPLY". End of the day, you have nothing in hand. Maybe we should all start telling the credit card companies and the financial organizations that term after we take a loan from them. If they call for re-payment, "CONDITIONS APPLY" - why can't it work both way? It has to work both ways. One has to make it work both ways.

Hmmmm.. I guess its enough of venting out the held up conditions. Now to get onto the everything else in Bengaluru. The weather has improved greatly, but still doesn't match the good old weather of the once green city. The government in this city has suicidal tendencies. They have an allergy to the age old healthy trees. Now I think the trees are committing suicide. With every rain, they try their very best to get back at the human race. For chopping the fellow brotherhood, they have decided to fall on people and/or their property and cause significant damange. Little do the people realize that it is the protest of the trees. What happened to the environmentalists when they made the once well shaded and cool CMH road into a bald dusty desert? Was it absolutely necessary to wipe out the entire road so well? Anyways, its not so far ahead that we see a ghost town being formed. Maybe the time will come when they will have to start giving saplings for every idli wada you pick up. Maybe the suicide bombers are more concerned about the environment. Atleast they are only reducing the population and cleaning up concrete garbage. Thankfully, they all spare the wildlife and the trees. The lack of trees in the city - suddenly I have a new theory related to it. This probably explains why the auto rickshaws in the city have suddenly become a lot louder than in the previous years. All this while I thought they have a hereditary grudge against the institution of silencers. But now, I think it is mostly because, there are no green matter on the roads to absorb the excess noise. These days, when people honk, its not irritating, but when an auto accelerates gradually and so slowly beside you, either you overtake it or go head to the nearest hearing impaired clinic.

We have entered into the 21st century now. But people seem to want to still live in re-creations of the paleolithic era. Everybody wants the macbook and the iphone, but when it comes to their house, they all want to build tipu sultan's palace, exactly as it is brick by brick. They want a Louis XVI sofa made to fit the new age tiny classical apartment in some far off corner of the city. When are the people of this country going to come out of the 18th century? And the answer would be "GOOD QUESTION".

0402hrs.. same day.. I think I am done with this one. Hopefully, things might change when the sun rises. THE END for the moment...

d u h

Its been a long long time now. Too long i guess. Think in the gap, I'd have opened this page just once, wrote something, and then decided not to post it. I seem to have developed an addiction to the sound the keyboard makes, when you tap on it. Can't seem to get enough of it. Thanks to Firefox, I didn't have to struggle to find what my login or blog id was, or maybe its thanks to gmail i guess. Since, this space permits you to write out any damn bullshit that crosses your head right now, here goes nothing.

Just finished a movie, at the last hour of what's left of my weekend. What is happening on the 60x80 dot on the Indian ocean? Its awfully quiet out here. Throughout the last three days, I haven't heard a bit of activity happening anywhere near my house. And mind you, I don't stay in a remote corner of the island. This happens to be the, well supposedly, the business center of the island. And come the weekend, there's no tussle, no bustle, no noise, no activity, no nothing. That last bit was a double negative, I am quite aware of it, but its just to stress on the level of quietness. Yes, for some the peace and tranquility is a wonderful thing, some don't have it. Some don't get it at all. But trust me, too much of anything, and I mean it, anything is harmful. I longed for the peace and quiet 8 months ago. I couldn't stand the noise, the crowd (still can't stand crowd), the traffic. But now, what has happened?? I am bored of this silence. I would like a bit of noise. Some spice in life. Some masala. CHANGE.. Maybe its time for another change. Maybe it isn't. Well i guess time will tell.

Think I'll hit the sack now.. got a long week ahead.. same ol story.. You must realize the fact that work is the same, no matter where you are....

life...

Man, has always been trying to understand the meaning of life, its purpose, the reason, the origin, but so far, we have only beliefs. And everybody claims to know the real purpose or the reason behind life. Or they just force themselves to believe something, that they don't know for sure.

For some the purpose of life, is to live in this world, keeping the neighbours happy and content, and multiplying. Why do we multiply, maybe the day, man figures out the mysteries of "life", the world would just end. The multiplying would probably stop. And the wars would end. The race for the so-called world domination would come to a stop. There will be absolutely nothing worth living for then. Probably at that moment, one can start thinking of death. Life and death, go hand in hand i guess. We don't know the real purpose or the reason behind both of them. And i guess the two co exist in harmony as long as we don't know anything about it. And it will stay that way only till that day, when man understands life and death. When you figure out either one of them, the other will take over, and in a short period of time, everything will come to a total shut down.

The end of days is near, but due to a very different reason. Man is in the process of killing himself. The present day activities of human beings are suicidal. Everybody wants to live in comfort, but they are all glued on to a quick and fast and instant concept of comfort, and think of the side effects, the after effects, only when its affected them. When oil prices all over the world are sky rocketing, suddenly man realises that, there is something known as global warming. Suddenly people started noticing the climate change. When islands start getting washed off, when cities got submerged, when people living comfortably, suddenly became refugees, global warming awareness was born. I don't see a difference between the refugees of war and the refugees of natural calamities. In fact, both are man made. But on the other hand, we are still multiplying. Maybe my generation would have to live through an extreme weather of only 46 deg Celsius, without an air conditioner, but what about the ones that are being born now. We are in fact, slowly but gradually building a furnace for our future generations. When the internal combustion engine was developed, they made the furnace for us, in which we are living. We make a furnace, and to compensate the heat, we make the air conditioner. But ultimately, both are paving way for the larger furnace - the future of earth. Thankfully, there are still some frozen water on earth, which would make sure, we don't die of the heat, but of water. Will earth become a large water balloon?

May be in my future blogs I should take up the topic "is the human race suicidal unconciously?"

the beginning..

Wow.. the first blog, insha allah, it won't die due to the disease - laziness..
